Foundation Ground

Where it all begins.

By cleaning up your system’s ground connection you hear a noticeable improvement in soundstage height, depth and width thanks to a lower noise floor. Soundstage scale is improved with richer tonal density especially at the edges of your sound field. Image outlines are brought into clearer focus while musicality and overall system refinement are greatly improved.

SR designed our original Basic Ground Wire in 2015 to be high performance while offering exceptional value. Fast forward over five years, and SR has advanced the state of the art with new technologies that improve nearly all aspects of cable performance, including discoveries SR could not have dreamed of five years ago. With this in mind, they set out to completely redesign the original Basic Ground Wire with new technologies and materials initially developed for the Foundation Series cables, as well as the new state-of-the-art SRX cables. The Foundation Ground Cable starts with a Silver Matrix Alloy in a PTFE dielectric. SR then incorporated a new woven jacket from the Foundation Series cables to reduce unwanted conductor resonance and static charge build-up. Shielding got a new UEF Compound originally developed for the Foundation Series cables applied in a Matrix pattern to the outside of the cable for a lower noise floor and enhanced musicality. Lastly, SR uses a new Three Stage High Voltage conditioning process first developed for the flagship SRX cables to increase the soundstage scale with a more three-dimensional presentation. All told, these effects are anything but subtle.   Note: Many power amplifiers will sound best without the ground engaged. Try your power amp and speaker cables with and without the ground attached and choose what sounds best for your system.
