Super Head
Advanced Headphone Amplifier & Line Preamplifier
Twelve years perfecting digital audio. A decisive step towards analog mastery. The SuperHEAD is not a brute-force machine, but a refined instrument designed to reveal what has always been hidden in music.
A decade of development
Since 2012, Audiobyte has been designing digital audio systems that eliminate the barrier between the recording and the listener. The SuperHUB, the SuperVOX: every product in our Super Series exists to preserve the essence of sound, not to impress. The SuperHEAD is the natural and inevitable culmination of that chain: a headphone amplifier conceived with the same obsession for signal integrity, born from a family that has always believed that the shortest path between two points is also the purest one.
"We didn't set out to build the most powerful headphone amplifier on the market. We set out to build the most truthful one."
This is our first dedicated headphone amplifier. It carries twelve years of accumulated knowledge — and it wears that heritage quietly, the way any well-crafted instrument should.
Design Philosophy
Refined, yet forceful.
Revealing, not flattering.
01 — Signal Path
The shortest route. Fewer compromises. The SuperHEAD was designed with maximum simplicity in the signal path. Every additional component between the source and the ear is a potential source of coloration: a subtle alteration of the original intent. A shorter, deliberate path reduces the possibility of signal alteration and increases the likelihood that what reaches the listener is exactly what was recorded.
02 — Component Selection
Active devices chosen for the task. The active components of the SuperHEAD were selected based on their technical parameters. The goal was not simply to find good individual devices, but to identify components whose specific technical characteristics complemented each other, each contributing a distinct advantage and together forming a circuit that delivers superior performance than any individual element could achieve in isolation.
03 — Output Matrix
Precision through an array, not a single large device. Instead of relying on large, bulky power transistors, the SuperHEAD's output stage integrates a carefully selected array of smaller, high-precision devices working together. This approach results in a more linear and better-controlled output stage that maintains composure and authority across all headphone impedances, from low-impedance planar drivers to high-impedance dynamic drivers.
04 — Nuance Above All
. Power is a tool. Subtlety is the goal. It's easy to achieve and advertise high power figures. The far more complex engineering challenge is preserving, at all volume levels, the microdynamics, spatial cues, and harmonic textures that transform a listening session into an experience. The SuperHEAD was designed with care and dedication to fulfill precisely that purpose.
All things considered.
Nothing superfluous.
Touch interface
A crisp, high-contrast display allows immediate control of volume level, input selection, and operating mode without cluttering the front panel or the user experience.
Rotary encoder
Precise, tactile volume control via a custom-weighted rotary encoder. Physical interaction with audio equipment is important, and we designed this to feel as good as it sounds.
Dual mode operation
The SuperHEAD functions with equal elegance as a headphone amplifier and as a high-quality line preamplifier, integrating seamlessly into any analog chain.
Integration with the Super series
Designed in conjunction with the SuperHUB, SuperVOX and SuperRACK, the SuperHEAD completes the analog cycle of the Super ecosystem with an aesthetic and electronic coherence that is unmistakably Audiobyte.
The simplest path is the right one.
Complexity in amplifier design is often the enemy of performance. The SuperHEAD follows a deliberately minimalist architecture: fewer stages, shorter traces, and components that earn their place through measured performance, not theoretical potential.

Solid aluminum chassis.
Solid block construction.
Made from premium aluminum, the SuperHEAD chassis is CNC machined to tolerances that eliminate resonance and ensure structural rigidity: a physical expression of internal precision.
Shot blasted and anodized finish
The surface treatment offers a matte finish that resists fingerprints and smudges; it's soft to the touch and highly durable. Available in matte black and matte silver to suit any listening environment.
Harmony with the Super series
The SuperHEAD shares the same dimensions and panel height as the SuperHUB and the SuperVOX, making the SuperRACK set a harmonious trio with a unified architecture.
