The new LAIV Harmiony µDAC is based on the same digital to analog conversion circuit as its big brother, namely a discrete balanced R2R circuit designed from audiophile components for precise signal processing. It supports high-definition sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD256. Each resistor in the circuit, with a tolerance of 0.05%, is carefully arranged to deliver superior, faithful and immersive sound quality.
The µDAC is based on an Accusilicon AS318 femtosecond oscillator with very low phase noise, guaranteeing uncompromising performance. In addition, an I2S port via HDMI allows integration of an external master clock for even greater performance. This flexible system will be particularly appreciated by the most demanding audiophiles.
The Harmony µDAC's Class A output buffer uses discrete components for precise impedance matching, to avoid signal degradation and ensure optimum transfer to an amplifier. The fact that it's in Class A ensures constant linearity and low noise, for the smooth, warm sound performance so highly prized by audiophiles. The µDAC's digital and analog circuits are galvanically isolated to avoid ground loops and guarantee a clean, interference-free path for the sound signal.
