Concept
The Simple Objective of the Degausser is to restore, as close as possible, the optimal operational characteristics of your MC cartridge by removing the parasitic magnetism of the iron core with use over time.
Moving Coil (MC) cartridges contain an iron core that becomes magnetized due to long years of use. With normal use of your MC cartridge, over time a magnetic bias forms, and the cartridge output becomes suboptimal. The effect is evident with increasing distortion in the music that is being played and audible deterioration of the sound quality; especially in the upper frequencies. It stands to reason that any restriction in the cartridge system of tiny and delicate parts, will be most noticeable in motion related to the fastest changes in direction. Rapid changes in movement = high frequency

MC Cartridge will degauss within 30 seconds
(In most cases)
If it has been a while since you demagnetized, we suggest you allow the record to play a few dynamic tracks during the degauss process.
Successfully restoring your phono cartridge by degaussing will increase the resolution and produce the rich, clear sound that your cartridge is capable of.
A sonic improvement was also heard initially when used on MM cartridges
